Description
The Avionics Software Architect develops and maintains software architecture for avionics systems, translating requirements into software components, interfaces, data flows, and architecture models. The role includes creating prototypes and reference implementations, implementing complex software and critical core functions, enforcing development standards, supporting hardware-software integration and fault tolerance, and conducting architecture and code reviews. It also supports verification, validation, testing, compliance with aviation standards, and collaboration with systems, hardware, test, safety, and certification teams. The position requires a technical degree, several years of safety-critical embedded or avionics software experience, strong C/C++ skills, RTOS and embedded Linux knowledge, V-Model development experience, model-based development, avionics communication protocols, and software quality and CI/CD expertise. The role is based at Rheinmetall’s site in Penzberg.
