Lodestar is hiring Avionics Software Engineers across Flight Software, Distributed Middleware, and Embedded Linux specialisms to develop safety-critical, fault-tolerant spacecraft software and embedded platforms for autonomous space-asset protection. The work includes RTOS flight software, distributed middleware, IPC and networking, OTA updates, and custom NVIDIA Jetson embedded Linux systems, with collaboration across autonomy, AI/ML, hardware, and multidisciplinary engineering teams. The role requires strong C++, embedded Linux or RTOS experience, debugging and performance skills, and may be junior or mid-level. Compensation is £30,000–£55,000 for junior engineers or £55,000–£75,000 for mid-level engineers, with benefits including medical, dental, and vision coverage.
