Description

Contractor role for an experienced Azure Data Engineer / Senior Databricks Engineer to design, build, and optimize cloud-based data platforms and scalable batch/streaming pipelines using Azure Databricks, Delta Lake, PySpark, Spark SQL, and Python. The position is fully remote in Mexico, full-time, and runs for 3-6 months with a high chance of extension. Responsibilities include Lakehouse/Medallion architecture, ETL/ELT, performance tuning, data quality, orchestration, CI/CD, and production support for enterprise analytics initiatives.

Additional Information

Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field
Required Previous Experiences: 6-10 years of experience in data engineering, application development, system integration, or enterprise data warehouse projects
Hands-on experience designing and implementing modern data platforms on Azure Databricks
Experience optimizing Databricks job performance
Experience across the full SDLC including design, development, testing, CI/CD, deployment, and production support
Preferred Qualifications: Real-time data processing experience
Architecture discussion and platform modernization experience
Ability to work independently in distributed teams
Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills
