Description
The Back Office Technician supports ophthalmic and optometric clinics by preparing patients for examination, collecting and documenting medical and ocular histories, obtaining consents, and performing refraction, visual acuity, intraocular pressure, fundus photography, visual field, fluorescein angiography, and indocyanine green angiography procedures. The role also administers topical ophthalmic and dilation medications, maintains sterile examination rooms, provides patient education, documents examinations in the CareCoud/EMR system, and may drive patients between clinics. A high school education or GED, a valid driver’s license, automobile insurance, and the ability to travel between clinics are required; ophthalmic or optometric industry experience and relevant certifications are desirable.
