LILT is hiring a Backend Engineer for its Create team to build and operate backend services for the Converse real-time translation product. The role covers audio ingestion, diarization, streaming ASR and machine translation orchestration, event-driven routing to interpreters, meeting-platform integrations, APIs, automated testing, CI/CD, observability, and production issue triage. Candidates need 2–5 years of backend software engineering experience, experience with REST and streaming services, and proficiency in a backend language such as Node.js/TypeScript, Java, or Python. The position requires United States citizenship and residence, with preferred locations in Washington, D.C., Boston, Massachusetts, and Indianapolis, Indiana.
