The role covers APIs, data pipelines, graph databases, event-driven architectures, integrations with AI models and scientific tools, system reliability, observability, and collaboration with researchers, product engineers, and domain experts. Candidates should have backend engineering experience, strong programming skills, production systems experience, database and cloud infrastructure knowledge, and the ability to design reliable, maintainable software.
