Tailscale is hiring a full-time Software Engineer for its Control Plane Team to develop and own software components, including open-source client code, backend services, control-plane features, relay infrastructure, and identity integrations. The role involves designing, testing, documenting, observing, responding to incidents, improving system efficiency and stability, and applying a security-first mindset. Candidates should have distributed-systems and Go experience, SQL database familiarity, networking knowledge, strong communication skills, and the ability to work independently and asynchronously in a startup environment. The position offers a CAD 218,420–302,840 base salary, equity, variable commission, and comprehensive benefits.
