Description
The hiring partner is an early-stage US startup building software and data infrastructure for product testing and compliance. It is hiring a backend engineer focused on data, with responsibilities including improving document-AI and LLM-based extraction pipelines, normalizing external test-report data, building analytical workflows, designing data models for multiple audiences, and making results statistically defensible. The role uses Ruby on Rails, PostgreSQL, ClickHouse, Claude API, Reducto, and optionally Turbo and Tailwind. Candidates need at least four years of backend engineering experience, strong Ruby on Rails and PostgreSQL skills, data-modeling and messy-data-ingestion experience, analytical rigor, and experience with LLM or agentic APIs in production.
