Hatch is hiring a Backend Engineer to build, ship, and operate backend systems for its mobile apps and IoT devices. The role focuses on Java and Python REST APIs, AWS IoT, Lambda, distributed systems, monitoring, alerting, and DevOps practices, while collaborating with Mobile, Embedded, and Product teams. Candidates should have 3–5+ years of backend engineering experience, strong JVM skills, production REST API experience, and familiarity with AWS, MySQL, and infrastructure and monitoring tools.
