GitLab is hiring an Intermediate Backend Engineer for its Agent Foundations stage to build and maintain the Duo Agent Platform in Ruby and, where needed, the AI Gateway in Python. The role involves developing secure, tested, and performant features; designing REST and GraphQL APIs; improving automated testing; collaborating with cross-functional AI and platform teams; and participating in Tier 2 on-call rotations. Candidates should have production Ruby on Rails experience, API and database skills, performance troubleshooting experience, and enthusiasm for AI tools. The role is remote and may have location-based eligibility requirements.
