Proofpoint is hiring a Backend Engineer to develop and maintain scalable, production-grade microservices using Go. The role involves end-to-end feature development, API and service-to-service communication, distributed-system debugging, clean and tested code, and collaboration with product and infrastructure teams. Candidates should have a degree in Computer Science or a related field, Go experience or strong willingness to learn it, backend fundamentals, and familiarity with microservices or distributed systems; REST APIs, asynchronous development, Docker, and cloud platforms are preferred.
