Description
Databricks is hiring a Backend/Infrastructure Engineer for its Unity AI Gateway team to build the control plane that routes AI requests to partner and self-hosted models, agents, coding assistants, and MCP servers. The role focuses on model routing, reliability, latency, efficiency, distributed AI workloads, and collaboration with research, platform, infrastructure, and AI/ML teams. Candidates need at least 8 years of backend or infrastructure engineering experience, strong Scala or Go programming skills, and experience with distributed systems, high-throughput APIs, cloud-native infrastructure, service-oriented architecture, deployment pipelines, and system observability.
