Modo Energy is hiring a backend Python engineer for one of its Terminal, Data, Ko AI Analyst, or Modelling product teams. The role involves building and operating Python backend services, APIs, data pipelines, PostgreSQL-backed systems, AWS infrastructure managed with Terraform, monitoring and observability, internal developer tools, and potentially LLM-powered retrieval and tool-calling infrastructure. The position requires at least three years of professional Python experience, production AWS and Terraform experience, proficiency with Django, FastAPI, or a comparable framework, data pipeline and relational database experience, and expert use of AI coding tools. The role is hybrid, with office work Tuesday through Thursday and flexible Mondays and Fridays.
