Description
The role is responsible for safely and efficiently loading bulk unpackaged materials onto a vessel at a barge using loaders, cranes, and ship loaders. Duties include following safety procedures, maintaining load plans and gate control, recording cargo weights and quantities, inspecting equipment and rigging, troubleshooting, communicating with operations and ship crews, and maintaining a clean work area. The position requires multiple and rotating shifts, outdoor work in extreme temperatures, work at heights and in confined spaces, and availability for evenings, weekends, and overnight issues. A high school diploma or GED, bulk-material-loading experience, maritime experience, and mechanical aptitude are preferred; the position is not eligible for visa support.
