Description
Impulse Space is hiring a Battery Engineer at a level commensurate with experience to develop lithium-ion battery packs for next-generation space vehicles. The role spans the spacecraft product lifecycle from concept through full-rate production in a high-reliability environment, including mission-driven battery development, cross-functional coordination, electrical/structural/thermal modeling, and troubleshooting electronics. Required qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering or a related field, professional battery-development experience, familiarity with lithium-ion battery qualification and safety standards such as UN 38.3, and strong technical communication. Preferred qualifications include a master’s degree, 5+ years qualifying spacecraft products, and experience with Siemens NX, Teamcenter, Simcenter or ANSYS, Altium Designer, harsh-environment power electronics, and electromechanical assemblies.
