Description
The BET Operator supports bird monitoring and environmental activities for a tailings and wastewater operation at the Syncrude site north of Fort McMurray, Alberta. The role involves operating ATVs, loaders, zoom booms, work boats, and ice breakers; maintaining and troubleshooting equipment; setting up and removing bird deterrents; driving vehicles; and performing general labor. It is a full-time, physically demanding position requiring a high school diploma or GED, a Class 5 license, a satisfactory three-year drivers abstract, CSO/BSO/OSSA/CSTS 09 certification, and a boat or pleasure craft license. The schedule is six days on and six days off, with 12-hour days, and flight and camp accommodation are not provided.
