The Medical Billing Specialist performs billing, collection, and third-party reimbursement activities, including entering charges and payments, verifying patient and coverage information, preparing carrier and patient bills, handling account inquiries and audits, maintaining billing records, and setting up financial agreements. The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, prior third-party insurance billing experience, AAPC coding certification, and effective communication; medical terminology knowledge is preferred.
