The role covers specimen collection, accessioning, grossing, processing, embedding, microtomy, staining, digitisation, quality control, method development, research, equipment maintenance, documentation, and communication with healthcare professionals. It requires HCPC registration as a Biomedical Scientist, IBMS registration or equivalent experience, and at least 18 months of experience in a UKAS-accredited histopathology laboratory.
