Description
The Boiler Operator operates, starts, stops, and maintains high-pressure boilers and auxiliary equipment that produce steam for hospital heat and power. The role includes boiler testing, water and chemical treatment, inspections, safety-valve replacement, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, HVAC and pneumatic-system support, and emergency repair coverage. It requires a high school diploma or GED and two years of relevant experience, and involves frequent standing, walking, lifting up to 50 pounds, and exposure to occupational hazards.
