Description
The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) is seeking a bridge and structural engineer to provide engineering expertise for transportation projects, including the evaluation, design, analysis, detailing, maintenance, rehabilitation, and construction support of bridges and other structures. The role serves as a responsible-charge engineer and project manager, coordinates with VDOT staff, governments, consultants, contractors, citizens, and FHWA, reviews structural plans and consultant contracts, develops technical reports and recommendations, and manages schedules, documentation, policies, and project teams while ensuring compliance with AASHTO, LRFD, VDOT, and applicable laws and regulations.
