Description
The Bridge Equipment Operator maintains, repairs, and constructs County bridge site features using specialized heavy equipment and tools, including cranes, backhoes, loaders, and dump trucks. The role also performs manual labor, conducts bridge site inspections, monitors safety, coordinates with supervisors and other equipment operators, completes equipment and activity records, and supports equipment upgrades. It requires a high school diploma equivalent plus three years of related experience, specialized equipment and bridge maintenance knowledge, basic mechanical diagnosis, safety and traffic-control skills, and a Class A CDL with the specified endorsements or the ability to obtain them within six months. Required training includes flagger certification, First Aid/CPR, MSHA-46, Wildland Fire Training, and Work Zone Safety Training.
