Description
The Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation is hiring Bridge Operator I – Dam/Lock Operators for multiple shifts at Amelia Earhart Dam in Somerville and New Charles River Dam in Charlestown. The role operates dams, locks, movable bridges, traffic gates, pumps, valves, and related equipment; controls water levels and vessel traffic; maintains and performs minor repairs on infrastructure; responds to emergencies; and coordinates with Coast Guard, harbormasters, public safety, and other agencies. The position requires varied shifts, weekends, holidays, nights, and standby availability, and offers no minimum entrance requirements.
