Description
HDR is seeking a Bridges and Structures Section Manager in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, to lead and grow its structures team. The role combines staff and project management with technical leadership on bridge and structural engineering projects, including PennDOT and local agency highway bridges, bridge load ratings, design analyses, drawings, calculations, specifications, and quality control. Responsibilities also include business development, client and contract management, proposal preparation, project scopes, schedules and budgets, staff development, mentoring, workload balancing, and coordination of multidisciplinary transportation design teams. Preferred qualifications include a civil engineering degree, Pennsylvania PE registration or ability to obtain it within six months, at least 10 years of bridge or structural design experience, MicroStation and structural analysis software proficiency, knowledge of the LRFD Bridge Design Code, and strong leadership, communication, marketing, and organizational skills.
