Description
The Data Center Operations Engineer provides operational support and technical services for a technology company’s critical data center. Responsibilities include maintaining and repairing mechanical, electrical, security, fire protection, HVAC, chilled water, and emergency backup systems; responding to faults and emergencies; performing preventative testing and corrective maintenance; monitoring equipment; documenting work; coordinating contractors; and following safety, change-control, and standard operating procedures. The role requires a high school diploma or GED, at least five years of critical data center operations engineering experience, proficiency with building automation and electrical power monitoring systems, and the ability to complete required safety classes.
