Description
The Building Inspector I conducts onsite inspections of residential and commercial projects, enforces building codes and local ordinances, investigates complaints, communicates with builders and contractors, prepares inspection reports, and responds to public inquiries. The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, six months of construction-related experience, knowledge of construction codes and Hall County, and the ability to obtain required residential building-code and trade-inspector certifications. It involves field work, operating a county vehicle, customer service, and physical activity at construction sites.
