Description
The City of San José is recruiting three Building Inspector-Electrical Specialty, Combination/Certified I/II/III/Senior positions within the Engineering Services Division, Code Inspection Section. The role inspects industrial, commercial, manufacturing, and facility projects for code, safety, and regulatory compliance; investigates construction and land-use changes; reviews plans and specifications; prepares reports and enforcement orders; and provides technical support to agencies, the public, architects, engineers, and contractors. The positions are subject to business need and may be located at the Airport, Regional Wastewater Facility, or Central Service Yard. Candidates need a high school diploma or equivalent, construction experience, a valid California driver’s license, and applicable commercial certifications, with salary ranges from $118,219.92 to $179,612.16 depending on classification.
