Description
The Building Inspector coordinates and performs inspections of new construction, remodels, repairs, and other projects to ensure compliance with building, electrical, zoning, safety, and other applicable codes. The role includes site and final inspections, code-review of plans and drawings, complaint and complaint-investigation handling, public inquiries, corrective-action advice, inspection-request processing, reporting, and follow-up inspections. It requires knowledge of building and electrical codes, construction methods, software, local geography, and specialized inspection tools, along with physical abilities for field work, travel, and sustained standing or walking.
