The Building Inspector assists with employee performance appraisals, directs work, trains staff, and coordinates inspections and administrative activities. The role conducts residential and commercial field inspections for building, framing, footing/slab, HVAC, and plumbing code compliance; identifies violations, issues citations, re-inspects corrections, and may present evidence in court. It also approves construction activities, maintains inspection records, and communicates with building owners, contractors, developers, and the public. The position requires an associate's degree or equivalent education, training, and experience, three years of building trades or construction-inspection experience, an applicable ICC certification, and a valid Georgia driver's license.
