The School Bus Assistant assists a bus driver with safely boarding and alighting students, securing wheelchairs and other restraints, monitoring student conduct, managing passengers, supporting emergency evacuations, maintaining vehicle cleanliness, completing paperwork, and reporting concerns. The role requires students to be at least 18 years old (19 in New York), meet physical and medical requirements, pass training, and demonstrate strong communication, behavior-management, professionalism, and physical-assistance skills.
