Description
A bus operator transports passengers along predetermined routes, provides route and fare information, assists with boarding and deboarding, monitors fares and transfers, reports vehicle defects and route issues, communicates with dispatchers and emergency services, records fare and passenger counts, and completes daily worksheets and incident reports. The role requires a safe driving record, eligibility for a Class B Illinois driver's license, successful completion of training and route familiarization, strong communication skills, and the ability to operate a vehicle for extended periods in all weather. It is covered by a collective bargaining agreement and pays $25.48 per hour.
