Description
Core Transit is hiring a full-time Transit Bus Operator to safely transport passengers in a mountain community. The role includes pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections, defensive driving, passenger assistance, route communication, dispatch and security-system operation, paperwork, and safety reporting. Candidates need a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid driver's license, and a satisfactory motor vehicle record; a CDL permit or Class B license with a passenger endorsement is preferred and must be obtained within 30 days of hire. The position offers paid 6- to 8-week training, starts at $30.75 per hour and increases to $31.83 after successful training, and includes medical, dental, vision, vacation, holiday, and retirement benefits. Work may be based in Avon, Vail, or Leadville, with variable schedules including nights, early mornings, weekends, and holidays.
