Description
The Municipality of Anchorage is hiring a People Mover Driver to operate revenue vehicles on scheduled and special service routes, provide customer service, collect fares, assist passengers with mobility devices, and respond to service interruptions or emergencies. The role is based at 3600 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, follows a Monday-through-Sunday schedule with shift work based on seniority, and may require non-scheduled work. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States, hold a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent, and have at least one year of experience as a licensed motor vehicle operator. A valid Alaska Class B or greater commercial driver's license with an unrestricted passenger endorsement or permit, no air-brake restriction, and a satisfactory driving record is required; candidates with an L-Vehicles restriction are ineligible. The position is subject to drug, functional capacity, criminal, driving-record, and other background checks, and the municipality does not provide visa sponsorship.
