Description

Tempus is seeking a highly experienced Business Development Director to join their rapidly growing Life Sciences Research team. This role focuses on establishing and expanding strategic partnerships within government entities, particularly with VA clients and NIH. The director will be responsible for building a pipeline, conducting market research, coordinating client interactions, leading the business development process, and advising senior management.

Additional Information

Required Previous Experiences: At least 10+ years working on US Federal projects or programs, with at least 5 years successfully serving in a VA business development or capture management role with a successful sales track record.
Proven track record of successful business development at a variety of acquisition sizes.
Demonstrated access to key customers and industry partners.
Prior experience supporting business development and capture efforts for Health agencies.
Preferred Qualifications: Advanced degree (MBA, MS, PhD or Healthcare certification)
Minimum of 10 years of related strategic account experience in the healthcare diagnostic technology industry.
Diagnosis or Genetic Testing experience
Strong business development, project management, time management and organizational skills
Strong understanding of healthcare industry and competitive strategy techniques
Experience with federal government budget, investments, and acquisition processes
Ability to gain internal support, operate independently with limited supervision and feedback, and establish a solid working relationship with technical staff, division managers, and peers across Tempus AI
Self-starter and ability to manage time independently without direct supervision
The ability to operate at the senior level and influence, negotiate and close
Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust government security clearance
