Description
The Buyer purchases raw materials and repair and operations (MRO) items from suppliers to meet shipment, margin, quality, and inventory goals. The role processes MRP messages, expedites parts, manages shortages and open orders, maintains procurement records, monitors quality corrective actions, coordinates with vendors and sales representatives, evaluates suppliers, and sets up new suppliers for less complex commodities. The position requires an associate degree or equivalent education and experience, 3–5 years of experience, blueprint and drawing reading ability, purchasing and MRP knowledge, manufacturing purchasing experience, and Microsoft Office skills, and is performed in an office and production-floor environment within a manufacturing facility.
