The Buyer reviews actual and forecasted material requirements, plans and purchases high-quality materials, parts, and components at cost-effective prices while meeting delivery requirements, and analyzes material needs. Responsibilities include managing supplier performance, developing purchasing strategies, negotiating with suppliers, sourcing materials, coordinating vendor selection and contracts, maintaining MRP and supplier records, and leading continuous improvement. The role requires a bachelor's degree in a related major and three to five years of related experience, or an associate degree with relevant coursework and four to six years of progressively responsible experience, along with analytical, communication, negotiation, purchasing-process, and MRP or ERP skills.
