Description
The Orange County Fire Authority is recruiting a full-time Technical Information Specialist (TIS) for California Task Force 5's US&R Plans Section. The role documents, tracks, and retrieves information during incident operations, supports US&R Plans activities, communicates with task-force sections and officials, and requires participation in physically and mentally challenging base-camp and field operations, including disaster zones, hazardous atmospheres, and air operations. Candidates must be current OCFA firefighters, Fire Apparatus Engineers, or Fire Captains; the position requires FEMA and NWCG training and is intended for entry-level candidates. Selected candidates begin training immediately after selection, with the FEMA Plans/TIS course scheduled for March 2027.
