Description
The Canine Behavior Specialist provides behavioral enrichment, socialization, exercise, playgroup support, behavioral assessments, basic training, and environmental enrichment for dogs at Animal Care Centers of New York City. The role requires a high school diploma or GED, at least six months of experience interacting with and caring for dogs in a private or shelter setting, the ability to handle fearful or aggressive canines, strong communication skills, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. The position works Wednesday through Sunday from 10:00 AM to 6:30 PM, reports to the Behavior and Enrichment Supervisor, and requires Fear Free certification within 30 days of hire.
