Description
The Protective Force (PF) Explosives Detection Team (EDT) program aims to prevent the introduction of explosive devices into U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Headquarters facilities. This involves detecting and deterring explosive threats using a graded security systems approach, responding to physical and communicated threats like bomb threats, and assisting emergency response management to clear potentially dangerous areas. The program utilizes highly trained explosives detection canine teams, which serve as a visible deterrent against terrorist activities.
