OpenAI is hiring a Capacity Systems Software Engineer to build software platforms and services for Industrial Compute planning, forecasting, optimization, fleet health, capacity allocation, deployment readiness, financial planning, and operational decision-making. The role develops backend services, APIs, data platforms, workflow automation, scenario-modeling systems, and decision-support tools, while partnering with cross-functional teams to replace spreadsheet-driven workflows with scalable systems. The position is based in San Francisco and follows a hybrid model requiring three days per week in the office.
