Description
The Cardiac Telemetry Technician works under registered nurse supervision to continuously monitor patients’ ECG tracings and provide remote video observation for patient safety. The role identifies and documents arrhythmias and rhythm changes, reports alarms and clinically relevant changes to nurses or physicians, enters patient data into monitoring systems, manages telemetry admissions and discharges, maintains monitoring equipment, and troubleshoots related devices. It requires a high school diploma or GED, current American Heart Association BLS certification, basic computer and Microsoft Office proficiency, and completion of the University of Chicago ECG course and validation test upon hire. The position is PRN at 0.1 FTE with rotating shifts in the Telemetry Hub; visa sponsorship is unavailable.
