UHN is seeking a Cardiovascular Perfusionist to join its Surgical Services Department at Toronto General Hospital and Toronto Western Hospital. The role involves maintaining and optimizing circulatory support for patients undergoing cardiac and non-cardiac procedures, operating heart-lung machines, and providing therapeutic services like administering medical gases and managing ventricular assist devices. The position requires a BSc with a diploma in Cardiovascular Perfusion and certification with CSCP or ABCP.

Additional Information

Minimum Education: BSc degree with a diploma in Cardiovascular Perfusion
Required Previous Experiences: Certification (or eligibility of certification) with the Canadian Society of Clinical Perfusion (CSCP)/or American Board of Clinical Perfusion (ABCP)
Preferred Qualifications: Thorough knowledge of the theory and practice procedures, instruments, equipment, and special techniques
Specialized knowledge of extracorporeal physiology and mechanics (both adult and pediatric)
Knowledge of applicable Hospital and departmental policies, procedures, guidelines, protocols and practices
Excellent judgement, problem recognition, and problem solving-skills
Effective time management skills with the ability to organize work and set priorities for self and others
Highly developed expertise and effective communication with all other health team members
Ability to work both effectively and accurately, adapting under stressful conditions in a fast-paced team environment
Demonstrated interest in continuing education
