The Cardiovascular Radiologic Technologist assists physicians with cardiovascular and pulmonary diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including catheterization, angiography, and special procedures. The role operates x-ray, fluoroscopy, C-arm, angiographic injector, and patient-monitoring equipment; records and maintains test results; monitors vital signs; follows radiation safety, sterile, infection-control, and aseptic procedures; and performs equipment maintenance and office duties. An ARRT-R certification, state radiologic technician registration, a California fluoroscopy license, and CPR or BLS certification are required, while an associate’s degree and one year of catheterization experience are preferred.
