Description
The Care Assistant without Additional Qualifications supports registered nursing professionals in the basic care of patients and people in need of care, performing personal hygiene, mobility, nutrition, housekeeping, simple documentation, and psychosocial support under supervision. The role requires a secondary school leaving certificate or equivalent, physical resilience, empathy, communication, teamwork, and flexibility for shift, weekend, and public holiday work. Care assistants may not administer medication, give injections, perform invasive nursing interventions, or independently perform nursing diagnoses or care plans.
