Description
The Central Service Technician performs decontamination, high-level disinfection, sterilization, cleaning and leak testing of surgical and gastroenterology instruments and endoscopes. The role prioritizes and coordinates work for the operating room, central processing and endoscopy areas, assembles OR case carts, maintains event-related sterility, monitors instrument repair, documents sterilization and implant logs, performs sterility monitoring and equipment recalls, supports quality improvement and staff orientation, and follows infection-control, confidentiality and department procedures. The posting requires a nationally accredited central service technician certification or equivalent credential, with a pathway allowing up to 18 months after hire to obtain qualifying certification if requirements are not met. Pay is $17.57–$25.32 per hour, depending on experience.
