Description
The Sterile Processing Technician performs decontamination, clean preparation, tray assembly, sterilization, distribution, and acquisition of instruments and supplies for the operating room and labor and delivery departments. The role includes performing Level I technician duties, training and precepting new staff, overseeing processing equipment, identifying specialty instruments and supplies, completing sterilization paperwork, maintaining sterility, delivering supplies, and handling high-volume cases. Applicants must graduate from a CRCST or Surgical Technology program, with CRCST required and annual maintenance required for non-Surgical Technology graduates; one year of sterile processing experience is preferred.
