Description
The Ophthalmic Technician performs eye-care duties under the supervision of a Department Manager and guidance from a physician or optometrist. Responsibilities include preparing examination rooms, interviewing patients, conducting vision screenings and advanced ophthalmic examinations, assisting with minor surgical and laser procedures, sterilizing instruments, administering medications, maintaining electronic medical records, and performing clerical and reception tasks. The role also requires compliance with quality, safety, and emergency policies and may involve translation or bilingual, shift, or other wage premiums under the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
