Description
The Certified Professional Coder (CPC) researches and codes office, surgical, and procedural reports and records, assigning accurate CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS, and modifier codes in accordance with CMS guidelines. The role also handles A/R denials and errors, provides coding training and feedback to providers, monitors reimbursement, and stays current with billing and compliance requirements. It is performed in an office setting, may require overtime, and requires a high school diploma or GED plus CPC certification.
