Description
The Respiratory Therapist provides inpatient and outpatient respiratory care under the supervision of the Cardiopulmonary Services Director and Medical Director. Responsibilities include bronchodilator and volume-expansion therapy, bronchial hygiene, medical gas administration, mechanical ventilation, BiPAP/CPAP, pulmonary function testing, arterial blood gas analysis, electrocardiograms, cardiac stress testing, Holter and home sleep studies, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, patient education, and discharge planning. The role requires a Maine respiratory care license, CRT or RRT certification, a CoARC-accredited respiratory care education background, and at least two years of clinical experience preferred; it also requires current BLS certification and knowledge of cardiopulmonary physiology.
