Description
The Surgical Technologist performs scrub duties for minor and major surgical procedures under the supervision of a Manager of Perioperative Services and a Registered Nurse. Responsibilities include assisting surgeons and nurses, maintaining sterile technique, preparing and counting instruments and supplies, handling specimens, disposing of biohazardous waste, supporting patient care and flow, and maintaining a safe operating-room environment. The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, surgical technologist certification, current BLS certification, and two years of operating-room technician experience is desired.
