Description
The Certified Surgical Technician assists surgeons and nursing staff during operating-room procedures by preparing surgical cases, maintaining sterile fields, passing instruments, counting sponges and instruments, cleaning and sterilizing equipment, and supporting daily OR operations. The role requires graduation from an OR technician program or equivalent training, Illinois CST certification, CPR certification under American Heart Association guidelines within 30 days of hire, and preferably two years of OR technician experience. It involves physical demands, exposure to blood and body fluids, and maintaining composure and professional judgment under stress.
